FENDI SS 2012, NOBEL PRIZE LOOK

Rita Levi-Montalcini is a 102-year-old Italian neurologist who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1986. Venturini Fendi felt she was the perfect to imagine the Fendi woman of spring summer 2012 !
There was a studious, masculine-feminine interplay, businessman's shirts, sober student blouses, and academic jackets, with twisted collars, coloured sunglasses, gold eye make-up and the models' bouffants had been somewhat disordered to evoke Albert Einstein's hair !
This is the world of science as viewed through the prism of fashion !

GUCCI CELEBRATES ART DECO

To celebrate its 90th birthday, Gucci imagined a glamorous style in black, white and gold with art deco patterns for summer 2012.
"I like the architectural shapes, especially the New York skyscrapers of the period," said the designer Frida Giannin.
The collection was inspired by Spring's Jazz Age revival and 1920's theme, but the graphic quality of the color-blockings and embroideries gave her dresses an anti-retro appeal.
Perfect jackets and dresses for party time !

ALEXA CHUNG FOR MADEWELL

Alexa Chung is back for a second collection with Madewell !
The new line, as the company stated, draws “heavy inspiration [from] girls in bands who live their looks,”.
The collection is sublimated by its brilliant campaign photos which were shot in Austin, Texas, and a beautiful video with this interesting road-trip vibe.

101 DALMATIONS AT TOPSHOP UNIQUE

Inspired by 101 Dalmations and its star villain, Cruella de Vil, the fall winter 2011 Topshop Unique catwalk glorified fur aplenty (faux of course) from the spotted coats to the stoles, completed with stuffed-toy dogs head and doggy prints covering everything from pussy-bow blouses to shift dresses.
Away from the doggy theme there was a glamorous 1930s vibe, with a modern twist and mustard yellow colours.
Long dresses with art deco prints, printed wide-leg trousers, shrunken jackets, tea dresses and pencil skirts.

ELKE KRAMER JEWELRY

Illustrator, art director, and jewellery designer, Elke Kramer brings a vast reservoir of creativity, adaptability, and technical ability to all of her projects.
Based in Sidney, Elke launched her eponymous jewellery line in 2004, which is a self-directed expression of her unique and multi-faceted creative abilities. Rather than follow the trends of the market; her designs are the result of endless material exploration of unexpected production techniques.
The resulting jewellery is a surprising and colourful ode to individuality, which is delightful to wear and own.
My favorite pieces are the marble geometric bracelets.
